Self-managed company
Self-managed company is a dream for any manager: all units are working effectively and making progress without any continuous routine administrative work. To create such a company one needs a business intelligence system that works as a "cruise control" in the car: you release the gas pedal, and the car continues to travel at the same speed, increasing engine speed and reducing the transmission when going uphill. The driver only needs to think about strategic matters: where to go, which way to go, and so on.
Let's imagine the logistics company, which has its own fleet of trucks, warehouses, drivers, sales department, Operations and Maintenance departments. Prior to using the business intelligence system, the director of the company had to regularly collect reports from all of the departments, analyze their performance and only then make strategic decisions on the basis of the data he managed to obtain.
Having installed the BI system, it has become possible to keep track of the company's performance with a help of a "button" on the PC monitor or a laptop: if it is green, the performance s all right. Once a company is doing something wrong, the button lights are turning red. Then the Director of the company clicks on the button, and the screen displays 5 buttons, which are corresponding different departments. 4 of the buttons are green, and one of them is red, indicating, for example, the sales department. By clicking on the red button, the director receives detailed information on all department managers and sees that the manager Ivan Petrov regularly makes sells with the maximum possible discounts and volume of such sales has exceeded the maximum value allowed.
It can be extremely difficult to track this situation without a BI system, in a "manual" mode and sometimes it is even impossible to regularly review reports by departments and employees, look for the causes of problems, remember all the restrictions, etc. Moreover, the analysis should be carried out not by one measure, as in our example. As a result, problems are often detected only when it is already too late to correct them, and the company has already suffered a loss.
The BI tool allows you to completely avoid this "manual" operation: the system automatically analyzes the data over a number of indicators, and in the event of a problem, immediately send out a sign to its user. With our BI system, your work load is significantly reduced: routine administrative tasks are minimized, the reaction time for negative situations is reduced greatly, the overall performance of the company (including economic)is significantly increased.
