How Business Discovery BI systems are different from OLAP-systems

Modern business intelligence (Business Discovery)systems have the following differences from the OLAP - based business intelligence  technologies:

  1. Business intelligence systems of Business Discovery store transactional data, so there is no need to constantly change the model / data architecture. Business problems are solved and new accounts  are created at the level of data visualization;
  2. in OLAP-cubes have redundant data (zeros);
  3. OLAP-cubes are difficult to combine;
  4. the cube is difficult to add dimension into (they rapidly increase the size);
  5. new requests from business users  often need a new data cube;
  6. the cubes store amounts, so for the new sections, new cubes need to be created;
  7. data model is developed much quickly: the creation of OLAP-cube for SAP BW takes  5 days, the solution of the same problem in QlikView takes only 5 minutes;
  8. any field in the QlikView system can be an indicator and measure at the same time;
  9. from the point of view of the business user in QlikView each following analysis is based on the previous ones;
  10. QlikView solution can support one person and it includes everything: ETL, data model, storage, and visualization. In large systems, it takes a minimum of 3 persons;
  11. there are so many products in existing business intelligence systems and a specific person is responsible for each product.
